A change in strategy
Wey Tutors can run a number of different courses. We are a customer oriented organisation and can respond to the needs of clients. In the past we have run Revision Courses at Easter for GCSE and A-level subjects and these have been well received. However the plethora of different syllabuses for the same subject has made it difficult to design courses which meet the varying needs of students and the standards we set for our courses. The general easing of course requirements for GCSE and A-level has also meant a declining demand for such courses though there is some evidence that this might be changing.
All of this has led to a change in our approach to courses. Instead of designing courses, offering these to the public through advertising and putting staff on stand-by for a course which might fail due to lack of support, we are prepared to design and run courses on demand. What this means is that, provided there is a firm demand by a date which will be specified, we will organise and run a limited number of courses . The outcome will be courses which are precisely targetted and held where they are needed. It will also be easier to recruit well-qualified staff . Tell us what you think.
Courses on offer for 2008
Saturday Study Groups We have a constant and growing demand for tuition for Common Entrance and the entrance examinations of independent and selective schools . The number of able tutors prepared to do this work is very limited - a knock-on effect of the shortage of teachers in schools and the demands made on teachers - and so we are offering a one hour study session on Saturday mornings. Two courses are offered , a short course to start in September 2007 and an extended course to start in January 2007. The short course aiming for the examinations held by schools in November 2006 and the Common Entrance examinations in January 2007 and the extended course aiming for the 2007/2008 examinations. The courses are intended to run in term time.
Intensive Revision Courses - Easter 2008
These can be offered in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and science subjects at GCSE level and mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and economics at A-level. Each subject course would occupy one week of the Easter vacation, mornings or afternoons for GCSE subjects and the whole week for A-level subjects. Besides revision of syllabus material the courses will include advice on examination and study techniques. Given sufficient demand it would be possible to run courses in subjects other than the ones above. Try us.
Final enquiry date: 31st January 2008
