About the Agency
The agency was founded by Tom Duncan in 1982. Specialising, at first
in Science and Mathematics subjects Wey Tutors has expanded to cover
all subjects from Key Stage 1 to University level. Most of our business is
in supplying tutors for one-to-one private tuition, organising courses
and providing teachers for schools on a supply basis.
The agency is licensed by the Department for Trade and Industry. This
imposes on us certain duties and obligations amongst which is the
necessity to ensure that prospective tutors and supply teachers are
properly qualified and fit persons to undertake the education of children.
We carry out this task by requiring applicants to complete a registration
form declaring their qualifications and experience in education and by
taking up references. We also require each new tutor joining us to obtain
a Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
We endeavour to provide qualified/experienced teachers whenever
possible for all school age students. We do have a number of tutors
who are not teachers but are experts in their subjects and experienced
tutors. We will always advise clients of the status of tutors before
offering their services.
